The romantic and timeless music of the gypsy guitarist Django Reinhardt and the great acoustic swing musicians of the 1930s provides the backdrop for Pete Krebs Gypsy Jazz, the Portland music legend's latest musical offering on the heels of such notable projects as Hazel, Golden Delicious, The Kung Pao Chickens and Django's Tigers. The Hot Jazz rhythms and Gypsy Swing melodies feature Nat King Cole-inspired standards, 'Sweet and Lowdown' -style foxtrots and fiery Eastern European folk tunes mixed with humor, sweetness and virtuosity.

Pete Krebs has been a fixture on the NW music scene for close to two decades and has appeared nationally and internationally with artists as diverse as Elliott Smith, Pearl Jam, Django, Nirvana, The Holy Modal Rounders, Robin Nolan and Wilco, and has been featured in publications ranging from Spin and Rolling Stone to the N.Y. Times and N.E. Portland's own Cully Neighborhood Newsletter. An in-demand private music teacher, he performs regularly with a variety of ensembles and is the swing-jazz guitarist and vocalist for The Stolen Sweets.
