Bagpiper John Goff
John Goff is a second-generation bagpiper who has performed at hundreds of weddings, funerals, celebrations, civic events and parties. He is one of the most prolific pipers in Portland, having played 82 times last year alone at events in the Portland Metro area and throughout the west coast – from Vancouver, BC to California’s Bay Area.
John brings his passion for piping, traditional attire, and exacting standards to every performance and event.
As a competitive bagpiper since 1984, John has won numerous prizes including the Campbell J. Naismith Amateur Pibroch Award and the WUSPBA Pipe Band Championship for Grade 2 with the House of Scotland Pipe Band. He has also played with BCPBA champions Portland Metro Pipe Band and the Grade 2 Cameron Highlanders Pipe Band.
John has also played pipes with bands outside of the traditional bagpiping world including Merzbow, Crash Worship, and Neurosis. While with The House of Scotland Pipe Band he piped in the Rod Stewart video "Every Beat of my Heart."
