DEAN!

"DEAN!" is a husband + wife duo playing a mix of original "Old Soul Pop" and R&B classics. Rachael Price's stunning vocals and pointed lyrics, along with Luke Price's raw harmonies and soul-influenced guitar culminate in undeniable chemistry. With just two voices and an old electric hollow-body guitar, they create music that is honest, timeless, yet uniquely new.

Luke and Rachel met at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, started dating, started DEAN!, made their first album (Want it Better), moved to Portland OR and got married!  Since then, they’ve continued to write and play together, alongside a host of other great musicians/ projects.  

Their music merges the rhythm and excitement of soul with the instrumentation of Motown and pop, walking the line between challenging, complex, and uniquely new:  Catchy in the verses, simply fun and rooted in the old music everyone loves.  

A typical DEAN! set include a mix of original tunes and fun covers:  Mostly soul, Motown and a few fun ‘80s tunes, all done in their own way (which is really fun!).  They can also add a rhythm section including bass and drums.  Definitely not a straight cover band.
